Something Amazing is Happening In Toledo this Summer – The First Zen Arts Workshop Series!
Over the course of the summer, the Toledo Zen Center and the Drinking Gourd Dharma Circle (a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization) will be hosting workshops, lectures and a retreat weekend with some of the top names in Zen arts. The events will share a common focus of using the arts as spiritual practice as seen in the zen tradition, and the events will cover such diverse topics as Food, Music, Pottery, Poetry and Calligraphy. Participants in any event will also learn the form of Zen Meditation called Zazen, and gain direct experience with the medium of the workshop as a contemplative practice.

“The arts of Zen are not intended for utilitarian purposes, or for purely aesthetic enjoyment, but are meant to train the mind, indeed, to bring it into contact with ultimate reality.”
